Job summary

Whanganui East School invites a passionate primary teacher to join our team for Years 5 and 6. This part-time permanent role up to 0.3 FTE focuses on nurturing foundational literacy and numeracy, with opportunities to develop expertise in BSLA and Numicon.

You will work within a supportive team, building strong relationships with tamariki and whanau, and contributing to inclusive, high-expectation classrooms committed to student wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications

• Certified teacher with NZ teaching certification.
• Experience with BSLA and Numicon or willingness to grow in literacy and maths.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Years 5 and 6.
• Collaborate with teaching team to support school goals.
• Monitor student wellbeing and achievement, using structured literacy and numeracy practices.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated primary teacher to join our team.

Our kura is committed to strong foundations in literacy and numeracy. We implement BSLA and Numicon across the school, and we welcome applicants with experience in these programmes or who are motivated to grow their capacity in structured literacy and mathematics teaching.
