A primary education institution in Otago is seeking a passionate part-time teacher for a special project to enhance children's literacy skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in structured literacy, demonstrate culturally responsive practices, and be willing to teach across various year levels. The role begins on 02/02/2026 and ends on 15/12/2026, aiming to inspire children to think and thrive in their learning journey.

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring teacher to join our kaiako team. The successful applicant will be collaborative, have highly effective and culturally responsive teaching practices, and the ability to quickly form relationships with children and their whānau. Experience teaching structured literacy using iDeal is preferred and training in LMIT is an advantage. You must be highly motivated, have a growth mindset and a desire for ongoing professional development. A willingness to teach across different year levels is required. This position is a special project to accelerate children in literacy.
