Job summary

Norfolk School is seeking a highly creative teacher for a one-year maternity leave cover in the senior school (Year 7–8). The role commences 28 January 2027 and ends on the final day of 2027, with start and end dates clearly defined.

You will work with the senior team to develop innovative learning programmes, emphasising literacy, numeracy and Te Reo Māori as an advantage. Strong relationship-building with students, whānau and the community is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with senior literacy programmes.

As part of our senior team, you will work closely with colleagues to develop innovative learning programmes in an energetic, collaborative and supportive environment.

Our Board of Trustees feel that strengths in literacy and numeracy are essential. We are looking for an applicant with a strong understanding and experience of phonemic awareness and senior literacy programmes. Strength in Te Reo Māori is also an advantage. Effective communication and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, whānau and the wider community is essential.
