Hope School has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate, and motivated teacher to join our highly collaborative and supportive team for the 2026 school year (fixed-term).

We are a small rural kura with a big heart, where tamariki, whānau, and staff genuinely know and support one another. Our school community values a culture of whanaungatanga, and our MANA values – Manaakitanga, Auahatanga, Ngākau Whakaute, and Ako sit at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ensuring every learner feels seen, valued, and successful.

Our approach to education is innovative and inclusive, ensuring we meet the diverse needs of all ākonga. We believe in creating enriching and engaging learning experiences that nurture curiosity, confidence, and achievement.

The successful applicant will place our tamariki at the heart of their practice, building strong, positive, and respectful relationships with learners, colleagues, and whānau. We are seeking an educator who:

  • Demonstrates sound pedagogical practice in literacy and numeracy (experience with iDeaL Structured Literacy and Maths – No Problem! is advantageous, with professional development available).
  • Shows cultural responsiveness, a growth mindset, and a strong commitment to ongoing professional learning.
  • Is a collaborative and flexible team member who contributes positively to all aspects of small school life.
  • Brings energy, creativity, and a willingness to share their passions, with potential to explore leadership opportunities.

This opportunity is open to both emerging and experienced teachers. You can expect quality coaching, collegial support, an experienced mentor, a supportive Board of Trustees, and rich professional development to help you succeed in your role.

We invite you to join us in shaping the future of education at Hope School. Together, we can inspire, empower, and make a lasting impact on the lives of our tamariki.
