Job summary

ALS Food & Environmental NZ is seeking a dedicated Sample Receipt Officer to join the Hamilton lab on a fixed-term basis covering parental leave. The role supports client services, sample intake, labeling, and data entry into the LIMS. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

You will liaise with clients and couriers, ensuring accurate sample submission and timely communication while supporting a collaborative laboratory team and maintaining high-quality service standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong client relationships with prompt, professional communication.
• Receive samples from clients and couriers; sort and label a variety of food samples with strong accuracy.
• Register samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for lab analysis.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful sample submissions.
• Market ALS services and assist with method selection and technical guidance.
• Perform investigations as needed.
• Monitor and prioritise laboratory projects.
