Job summary

David's Emporium in Hamilton is seeking a Sales Assistant for the Dress Up and Housewares departments to help customers and keep the shop well presented.

You will provide friendly, efficient service, answer product questions, handle stock and POS, and support the team in a busy retail environment. Weekend availability is required.

Prior retail experience is preferred, and an interest in dress up or housewares is a plus. Training will be provided to deepen product knowledge and service skills.

Sales Assistant - Dress Up and Housewares – Hamilton Store

David's Emporium is a well-established, family-owned retail business with stores in Hamilton and Manukau. We are known for our wide range of products including fabric, haberdashery, art, craft, housewares, hardware and dress-up, as well as our friendly, helpful service.

We are looking for a motivated Sales Assistant to join our busy Hamilton store with responsibility for our Dress Up and Housewares departments.

About the Role

You will be:

Providing friendly, efficient and knowledgeable customer service

Assisting customers with product enquiries and purchases

Taking responsibility for the presentation, organisation and day to day running of the Dress Up and Housewares areas

Keeping stock organised, replenished and well presented

Assisting customers to find products and offering helpful product advice

Operating the POS system accurately

Monitoring stock levels and identifying products that need refilling

Supporting the wider team to keep the store organised and running smoothly

Assisting with stock handling (some heavy lifting required)

This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys working with customers while taking pride in the presentation and organisation of their department.

Retail experience is preferred , but we are also interested in people who have a genuine interest in dress up, housewares or retail and are williing to learn.

Hours

This role has a minimum of 37 hours per week and includes weekend work, including both Saturday and Sunday. Please only apply if you are available to work weekends..
