Responsibilities
- Keep New Zealand’s track safe
- Permanent full-time role, based in Christchurch
- Maintain, update and manage the Safety Management Systems
- Based in Christchurch, this permanent role is part of our Fleet Operations team. You’ll maintain and update the Scenic Trains Safety Management System and ensure our manuals, records, and risk registers are accurate and up to date.
- You’ll act as the product owner for safety and service documentation, coordinating updates, analysing data, and identifying improvements. This role helps keep our operations safe, compliant, and focused on continuous improvement, so our teams can deliver great service every day.

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience with Safety Management Systems, document control, and risk assessments (rail or transport experience an advantage)
- Understands health, safety, and employment legislation in New Zealand
- Is confident with advanced level Microsoft tools, especially SharePoint and FS Pro
- Experience in document creation, editing and document control
- Can interpret data clearly and provide useful insights
- Communicates well, builds relationships, and works across teams
- Takes initiative and shows good judgement
- Holds a current NZ driver’s licence and can travel to Scenic Train sites as needed
It’s Also Helpful If You Have
- Business qualifications or relevant industry experience
- Knowledge of travel or tourism
- Language skills in NZ tourism priority or emerging market languages
