New Zealand Government is seeking a Rural Medicine Specialist to provide emergency and inpatient care to the Taumarunui community. You will work in our emergency department and inpatient ward, delivering high‑quality preventive, therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, and consulting with tertiary hospital teams as needed.

You will develop rapport with patients and families, perform procedural skills, and contribute to a supportive, collaborative team focused on rural health improvement.

Qualificações

• Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as Rural Hospital Specialist or Emergency Medicine Physician.
• Experience or passion for providing quality care to rural and disadvantaged communities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide emergency and inpatient care to the community.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedural skills proficiently.
• Deliver preventive, therapeutic and diagnostic interventions effectively.
• Seek appropriate consultation from health professionals at the tertiary hospital within the boundary of your expertise.
• Develop rapport, trust and ethical therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Extract and synthesize relevant information from patients, families and other professionals.
• Manage a wide range of acute presentations while guiding patients through assessment, treatment, transfer or admission.
