Job summary

Employer Sponsored Jobs is seeking five experienced Rope Access Technicians for permanent full-time roles in New Zealand. The crews operate across greater Auckland and Christchurch, with routine travel and occasional overnight stays.

Applicants should hold IRATA Level 1 (or equivalent), have at least 6 months rope access experience, and NZQA 6400/6401/6402 First Aid. A 3M Inspection qualification is valued. Driving in NZ is required; fitness and integrity are essential.

Qualifications

• Full NZ driving license and ability to travel between regions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work at height using rope access and abseiling techniques.
• Certify height safety systems on client buildings.
• Wash buildings, clean windows and operate water blasting equipment.
• Complete glazing tasks as required.
• Write building reports after inspections and jobs.

Job description

An established commercial property maintenance employer, trading in New Zealand for over 20 years, needs five experienced abseilers to fill permanent full-time Rope Access Technician roles. Its crews look after buildings at height, and the workload is split between greater Auckland and Christchurch, which means routine travel, overnight stays and occasional short jobs in other regions.

Staff are contracted for a minimum of 70 hours a fortnight and normally work 40 hours a week. The business runs a day pattern of 7am to 5pm across Monday to Saturday and a night pattern of 6pm to 2am across Monday to Thursday, publishing rosters about a week before they start. It supports industry training and progression through further IRATA levels.

As an AEWV-accredited employer, it can sponsor suitable candidates and welcomes enquiries from IRATA-qualified abseilers currently living outside New Zealand.
