Job summary

Auckland City Yan Jin Construction Limited is seeking a reliable Roof Tiler for a full-time, permanent role in Auckland. The position focuses on roofing installation, repair, maintenance and replacement across residential and commercial properties, requiring practical roofing skills.

The applicant should have NZQF Level 4+ or equivalent experience, be physically fit, and able to work with hand and power tools, at heights and in various weather conditions. Overtime/weekend availability is a plus.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 4 or above or at least 1 year relevant work experience.
• Good attention to detail and a hard-working and reliable attitude.
• Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding work.
• Able to work safely with hand and power tools and construction equipment.
• Able to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Willing to work overtime and on weekends if required.
• Must pass drug test and have no criminal convictions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and building materials.
• Construct, assemble and install timber structures for residential buildings.
• Install timber framing, flooring, doors, windows and other wooden components.
• Fit and secure timber components ensuring alignment and stability.
• Repair, replace and modify existing timber structures and fittings.
• Operate woodworking machinery, power tools and hand tools safely.
• Check completed work for accuracy, quality and compliance with project specs.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
