Job summary

Oceania Healthcare Ltd is seeking a Registered Nurse based at The Oaks in Christchurch, NZ. You will practice at full scope within a nurse-led service, coordinating daily care needs and building strong connections with residents and their families.

You will provide comprehensive nursing assessments and interventions, make autonomous care decisions, and lead care staff. A NZ Annual Practising Certificate and strong communication, time management, and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate.
• Commitment to delivering excellent service.
• Experience using clinical systems.
• Desirable: InterRai experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time management abilities.
• Capability to coach and mentor other staff.
• Flexibility to work on a rostered shift basis that may include weekends and evenings shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the daily care needs of residents while inspiring and supporting others.
• Providing comprehensive nursing assessments and interventions, both independently and collaboratively.
• Making critical decisions regarding resident care and demonstrating autonomy.
• Building connections and relationships with residents and their families (and allied health professionals in the community).
• Providing leadership and guidance to care staff and team members.
