Job summary

ASB Bank is seeking a Risk Specialist to join our Enterprise Operations Risk & Compliance team in Auckland. The role offers broad exposure to operational risk, compliance, fraud, and financial crime activities across the Bank.

You will work with multiple business units, supporting risk management, control assurance, reporting and governance while helping build a strong risk culture and resilient operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in risk, compliance, quality assurance, financial crime, fraud or banking operations.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of risk and compliance activities across Enterprise Operations.
• Performing control assurance and control effectiveness testing to ensure key controls are operating as intended.
• Assisting with the preparation and analysis of risk reporting, metrics and insights.
• Supporting governance activities, including meeting coordination and minute taking.
• Working with stakeholders across varying levels of seniority to identify, assess and manage operational risks.
• Assisting with business continuity and disaster recovery planning activities.
• Monitoring and supporting key compliance and risk deliverables to ensure obligations are met.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and ways of working.
• Contributing to a strong risk culture through effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

We're looking for a Risk Specialist to join our Enterprise Operations Risk & Compliance team. Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure across Enterprise Operations and develop a strong foundation in operational risk and compliance. You'll work closely with stakeholders across a variety of business units, supporting risk management activities, control assurance, reporting, governance and business continuity initiatives.

• Experience in risk, compliance, quality assurance, financial crime, fraud or banking operations
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately across multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A proactive and inquisitive approach with a willingness to ask questions and challenge the status quo
• Good organisational and time management skills
• The ability to build effective working relationships across a broad stakeholder group
• A continuous improvement mindset and interest in making processes better
