Job summary

Compass Group NZ is seeking enthusiastic Catering Assistants to join our Nelson Hospital team. This is a part-time role with guaranteed 20 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 12:00pm, delivering high-quality meals to patients in a busy healthcare setting.

You will assist with basic food preparation, meal assembly, and serving, while upholding food safety standards and providing friendly, professional service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality or food service environments.
• Strong food safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically able to undertake kitchen and cleaning duties.
