Job Summary
As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to all customers, with a special emphasis on Chinese-speaking visitors. Your passion for the outdoors and product knowledge will help customers find the perfect gear for their adventures, while your cultural awareness ensures they feel welcome and understood.
Key Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service, including personalised support for Chinese-speaking customers.
Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with product selection.
Offer knowledgeable recommendations based on customer needs, particularly for hiking, camping, running and climbing.
Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using Shopify.
Maintain a clean, organised and visually appealing retail space.
Stay informed on current product lines, promotions and outdoor trends.
Translate product descriptions and signage when needed (Mandarin/English).
Support inventory restocking and merchandise displays.
Assist with in-store events, live demos and group shopping experiences for tourist groups.
Requirements
Language Skills:Proven fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Existing knowledge with outdoor gear and apparel.
Retail or customer service experience, a minimum of two years is required.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Team player with a friendly, professional attitude.
Cultural sensitivity and ability to connect with international clientele.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with POS systems; Shopify and BRM (Bike Rental Manager).
Experience serving Chinese tourists or international shoppers.
Knowledge of Chinese payment systems (e.g., Alipay, WeChat Pay, UnionPay).
Familiarity with Chinese travel habits and preferences in retail.
