Job summary

Auckland Council invites applications for an Assistant Retail Sales Advisor based at Auckland Zoo. This permanent, full-time role supports the Auckland Zoo Shop behind the scenes, helping stock, procurement, merchandising and customer service to ensure a welcoming visitor experience.

Working 40 hours per week on-site, you will liaise with suppliers, manage inventory, handle online orders, and assist with visual merchandising and analytics.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience is essential.
• NZ driver's licence preferred.
• Familiarity with Lightspeed and Shopify beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support stock and inventory management, including product data entry and stock counts.
• Maintain visual merchandising and shop appearance.
• Assist shop floor staff with day-to-day operations.
• Fulfil online orders and respond to customer enquiries via email and phone.
• Support supplier relationships and e-commerce transactions.
