Job summary

Buddle Findlay in Auckland is seeking a Solicitor to join our Restructuring and Insolvency team, a top-tier practice offering varied, high-value work and strong mentorship to support your growth. You'll work on formal appointments for insolvency practitioners, distressed M&A, and security/enforcement matters for banks and other creditors, with exposure to intercreditor and restructuring challenges.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years' PQE in private practice in New Zealand or another Commonwealth jurisdiction
• Experience in negotiated debt, property, corporate or commercial transactions with exposure to security work
• Familiarity with the PPSA and Property Law Act in a security context
• Interest in insolvency and restructuring; able to work across M&A, debt and security, advisory and transactional work

Responsibilities

• Acting for insolvency practitioners on formal appointments and distressed M&A transactions
• Advising banks and other creditors on security and enforcement, intercreditor and priority issues
• Contributing to balance sheet restructurings and other restructuring exercises
• Providing both advisory and transactional support in a fast-paced environment
