DairyNZ Limited seeks a Research Technician to join our Research Farm team at Newstead (Hamilton). You will support DairyNZ research projects for productivity and sustainability on NZ dairy farms, performing hands-on procedures, data collection, and data analysis, and assisting with animal handling and farm activities.

You will work both independently and within a team, bringing strong communication, relevant agricultural or science background, and knowledge of farm systems.

Qualificações

We are looking for a dedicated Research Technician to join our research farm team to contribute to impactful DairyNZ research projects.

About the role

As a Research Technician, this plays a key role in supporting research projects that drive productivity and sustainability on New Zealand dairy farms. This hands‑on role involves conducting research procedures, collecting and analysing data, and assisting with animal handling and farm-related activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct experimental work following research protocols
• Collect, analyse, and record data accurately
• Assist with animal sampling, herd testing, and welfare management
• Provide technical support to research teams
• Help prepare reports and contribute to research publications
• Support knowledge transfer through conferences, field days, industry events, and host visitors when required.
• Assist with general farm duties when required, ensuring high standards of animal care and welfare.

This role is primarily based at our Newstead research farms in Hamilton. Some domestic travel may be required to attend conferences, field days, and industry events.

About you
