Our vision goes beyond conventional boundaries in pursuit of solutions that redefine industry standards to make projects quicker, easier and more cost-effective for our partner companies to achieve.

Description

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the mechanical installation phases of large-scale renewable energy projects across New Zealand. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll be responsible for delivering projects On Time, In Full, and to Specification (OTIFIS) — with a strong focus on safety, quality, and budget. This is a hands-on, project-based leadership role requiring strategic planning, excellent communication, and the ability to drive teams and contractors toward successful outcomes. The role includes a company vehicle and requires flexibility to travel 90–100% of the time if projects are outside your home region.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead project delivery – manage teams, subcontractors, and resources to deliver solar farm projects On Time, In Full, and to Specification (OTIFIS).
  • Build high-performing teams – oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and foster a culture of accountability and engagement.
  • Engage stakeholders – act as the key project representative, building strong relationships with clients, councils, and subcontractors.
  • Drive safety and quality – promote a proactive safety culture, enforce compliance, and maintain project quality standards.
  • Control budgets and reporting – monitor costs, manage financials, and provide accurate daily/weekly project performance updates.
Skills And Experiences
  • 5+ years’ project management on large-scale solar or renewable energy projects (>50MW).
  • Proven background in civil or mechanical works on major construction projects.
  • 3+ years’ experience leading teams and subcontractors.
  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Production Management (desirable).
  • Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong financial, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and project delivery methods.
  • Current Class 1 NZ full driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to travel across New Zealand as required. Travel may be 90–100% of the time if projects are outside your home region. Company vehicle provided.
  • Professional appearance and conduct; role represents New Energy on site and to clients.
  • Physically fit for site work; First Aid certification desirable.
