Renewable Careers in Wellington is seeking a Graduate Renewable Energy Analyst to support decisions across development, finance and operations. You will build models, research markets and prepare clear reports for project teams and senior leadership.

This role offers hybrid work from our Wellington office, mentorship, exposure to three technologies, and a clear development path in a growing clean energy portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (finance, economics, engineering, environmental science, data analytics)
• Demonstrated interest in renewable energy and the clean energy transition
• Strong analytical skills with Excel; Python/SQL or data visualization experience valued

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain models for project economics, energy production and market analysis
• Conduct research on markets, policy, technologies and competitors
• Support due diligence on new projects and acquisitions with data from across the business
• Analyse performance data from operating assets and report trends
• Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations for project teams and senior leadership
• Support development data needs for grid connection, permitting and site selection
• Improve spreadsheets, tools and datasets used across the company

Renewable Energy Analyst (Graduate)

Location: Wellington (hybrid)

Salary: NZD $65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience

Type: Full-time, permanent

We are a clean energy company that develops, builds, owns and operates renewable projects across New Zealand, with a portfolio spanning utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS). From our Wellington office, our team works at the intersection of projects, markets and policy in one of the world's most renewable electricity systems. We are looking for a graduate analyst to help power our growth.

What you will do

You will work at the analytical heart of the business, supporting decisions across development, finance and operations. Expect variety, real responsibility and plenty of learning. Your work will include:

• Building and maintaining models for project economics, energy production and market analysis
• Conducting research on markets, policy, technologies and competitors to support strategic decisions
• Supporting due diligence on new projects and acquisitions, working with data from every corner of the business
• Analysing performance data from our operating fleet and reporting on trends and improvements
• Preparing clear reports, dashboards and presentations for project teams and senior leadership
• Supporting the development team with data for grid connection applications, consenting and site selection
• Improving the spreadsheets, tools and datasets the whole company relies on

What we are looking for

• A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, environmental science, data analytics or a related field
• A demonstrated interest in renewable energy and the clean energy transition
• Strong analytical skills and real comfort in Excel; experience with Python, SQL or data visualisation tools is valued
• Attention to detail and the discipline to get the numbers right
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn analysis into insight
• Initiative and curiosity: you take ownership, ask good questions and learn quickly
• The right to work in New Zealand
• Internship or project experience in energy, finance or data analysis is valued but not required. We
