Job summary

Waikato Hospital is seeking a Consultant Renal Physician for a fixed-term 11‑month role starting November 2026. The position combines inpatient, outpatient and regional service delivery within the Midland Renal Service, with opportunities for interventional nephrology and participation in a busy clinical research unit.

Qualifications

• Eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
• Hold a current driver licence
• Demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence, education and service development
• Available to start the role in November 2026

Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient and outpatient renal care across the Midland region
• Participate in the on‑call roster
• Contribute to teaching and clinical research
• Collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team
