Overview

About The Role
We are partnering with an important and complex government department to recruit an exciting Remuneration Manager position. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for someone to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive remuneration strategy that aligns with the organisation’s goals and creates a positive impact on the workforce, now and into the future. In this critical role, you will engage closely with internal teams and key stakeholders to ensure the establishment of effective and sustainable pay practices.

This is not a BAU remuneration leadership role; it is a critical role that is focused on designing and rolling out a new remuneration strategy over the next year. It can be a 12-month fixed-term position or it could be a great secondment opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge.

This role will ideally be located in Wellington, but there is the possibility of a regional appointment (with some travel required).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a remuneration strategy that supports the organisation’s workforce objectives and enhances employee outcomes.
  • Lead a team that provides expert advice to develop job roles and tailor remuneration systems and processes that are consistent with the organisation's mission.
  • Collaborate across the organisation to design and champion the rollout of the new remuneration strategy to ensure it achieves the desired outcomes.
What You Will Bring to This Role
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing remuneration strategies and frameworks within the public sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data and identify trends in remuneration practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills to champion the new remuneration strategy.
