Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Physics Subject Matter Expert to help train and improve AI models remotely. You will design challenging physics problems across classical mechanics to quantum physics and develop rigorous, step-by-step solutions with clear reasoning.

You'll evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, collaborate with researchers on benchmarks, and provide actionable feedback to help AI systems reason more effectively. This is a flexible hourly contract with 10-40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a Master's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.
• Strong problem-solving ability across multiple advanced physics domains.
• Able to communicate complex concepts clearly and precisely in writing.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to scientific accuracy.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging, well-structured physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum physics, and more.
• Develop rigorous, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate clear logical reasoning.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, depth, and quality of reasoning.
• Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks across undergraduate to Masters-level physics topics.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback to help AI systems improve over time.
