Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Financial Accountant to maintain accurate financial records for a manufacturing client with a flexible remote work setup in Queenstown, South Africa, but aligning with New Zealand-based remote work expectations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, 3+ years in financial accounting, IFRS knowledge, and proficiency in Sage/Xero with strong Excel skills. Experience with Pastel Partner or Sage Evolution is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3+ years of financial accounting experience.
• IFRS for SMEs or full IFRS knowledge.
• Proficiency in Sage/Xero and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per IFRS.
• Assist month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile bank statements, A/P and A/R.
• Process journal entries, accruals, and prepayments accurately.
• Support VAT and tax compliance activities.
• Assist auditors with documentation and preparations.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation.
