The Role

You will be working across a varied and interesting relationship property matters and have scope to further pursue other commercial and property related matters. In providing relationship property advice you will be involved in:

  • Drafting and advising on s21 contracting out agreements before or during relationships
  • Advising clients on their likely entitlements on ending a relationship
  • Drafting and advising on s21 agreements at the end of relationships
  • Assisting clients through issues arising at the end of relationships, including opposed applications in the Family Court, and mediations
  • Advising on appropriate structures to mitigate risk of unwanted consequences under the Property (Relationships) Act
  • Property, company and trust structuring

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients, take ownership of files, and develop your expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.

About You

We are looking for a lawyer with:

  • An existing interest in relationship property matters;
  • Ideally you will be experienced across a range of relationship property matters including contracting out agreements and resolution of contested division of relationship property;
  • Sound technical knowledge with strong drafting and advisory skills
  • A client-focused approach and excellent communication skills
  • Initiative, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude
  • A desire to grow their career in a respected, well-established firm
