Job summary

The New Zealand Government is seeking a Senior Management Accountant on a fixed-term basis from immediate start to 29 January 2027, primarily to support Regulatory functions. You will act as the main contact for your portfolio and work closely with the Finance Business Partner to ensure financial performance is well-managed and aligned with strategic priorities.

Benefiting from seven-plus years in management accounting or related finance roles, you will demonstrate strong analytical skills,

Qualifications

Proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or business partnering.
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with frequent forecast changes.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field.
At least seven years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Senior Management Accountant will primarily support Regulatory functions.
Act as the primary contact for the assigned portfolio and coordinate with the Finance Business Partner to ensure financial performance is well-managed and aligned with priorities.
Portfolios may shift based on evolving business needs, offering variety and challenge.
May be required to support other functions as needed.
