Job summary

Busy Bees Te Hāpara in Gisborne is seeking a passionate registered teacher to join our welcoming team on a 6-month fixed-term contract through to May 2027. Start date: 26 October 2026.

You will plan engaging learning experiences guided by Te Whāriki, document children's progress, and build strong tamariki, whānau relationships. NZ residency or valid work visa required. Centre located at 22–24 Wellington Street, Gisborne.

Qualifications

  • NZ teaching qualification and current NZ teacher registration.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Collaborative and positive approach.
  • Passion for Te Whāriki and quality early childhood education.
  • Confidence using digital platforms to document learning and connect with families.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement engaging learning experiences guided by Te Whāriki.
  • Document and celebrate children's learning through meaningful assessments.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and connected.
  • Build strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues.
  • Maintain a safe, inspiring environment that prioritises children's wellbeing.
