Job summary

Thames Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department. The role is a 12-month fixed term with full- or part-time options, requiring flexibility to work all rostered shifts.

Experience in Emergency care is preferred, and training will be provided for the right candidate. The successful applicant will hold NZ nursing registration and a current practising certificate.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Nursing Council of New Zealand registration.
• Current practising certificate with Nursing Council of NZ.
• Competent level of practice per PD/PRP framework.
• Experience implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in Thames Hospital ED.
• Work across all rostered shifts in a 12 month fixed term.
• Participate in ED procedures and care coordination.
• Maintain professional standards and documentation.

About the role

We are looking for an energetic and empathetic Registered Nurse to work within Thames Hospitals Emergency Department. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in Emergency care although we are willing to train the right person. There are full or part time positions available on a 12 month fixed term basis. The successful candidate must be available to work all rostered shifts.

About our Service

Thames Hospital is a secondary level hospital 100 kilometres north of Hamilton. It serves the Thames, Coromandel Peninsula, Hauraki and Paeroa areas. Thames Hospital has a 24 hour emergency department, and covers the usual range of general surgery and general medicine. Thames Hospital is part of the Waikato District Health Board.

About you

Skills and experience youll need to be considered for the role:

• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand; inclusive of scope of practice
• A current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
• Expected to meet a competent level of practice on the Professional Development and Recognition Programme, but may achieve a higher level of practice
• Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
