Job summary

Dunedin Dialysis Unit, Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a growing service. This 0.7 FTE role offers hands-on dialysis care, relationship-building with patients and whānau, and opportunities to develop specialist skills in both in-centre and home dialysis.

Dialysis experience is not required as training is provided. You’ll be supported by a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on safe, equitable, high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Current Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Right to work in New Zealand.
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dialysis nursing care in the Dunedin Dialysis Unit, with hands-on clinical tasks.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with patients and whānau over time.
  • Support and educate patients to manage their own care, including home dialysis where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the MDT to deliver patient-centred care and ensure safety.

We can teach you dialysis.What we're looking for are nurses who are curious, clinically switched on, enjoy hands-on nursing and want to develop specialist skills while building meaningful relationships with patients and whānau.**About the role**Dunedin is the main dialysis centre for Southern, supporting people requiring renal replacement therapy across a large geographical area, from Waitaki through Central Otago and down to Bluff.We provide in-centre haemodialysis, home haemodialysis training and support, peritoneal dialysis, respite dialysis and acute dialysis care. This means there is plenty of variety and lots of opportunity to grow your practice.Dialysis nursing brings together technical skill, critical thinking and genuinely patient-centred care.
