About the Role

Location: Wellington dialysis unit/ Hutt dialysis unit/Kenepuru dialysis unitContract: Permanent, part-Time 0.8 FTE rostered and rotating, working across 7 days a week, am and pm shifts with no night shift.Must be able to work across all 3 dialysis units on a day-to-day rotational basisHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. Rostered and rotating position available in our haemodialysis nursing team working across our 3 dialysis units. The Wellington Hospital dialysis unit has 12 treatment areas and provides haemodialysis treatment to inpatients and outpatients both on an acute and chronic basis and is operational 7 days a week. The 24-station satellite dialysis unit at Kenepuru Hospital provides haemodialysis treatment to outpatients and is operational 7 days a week. Te Whare Takihi mo te Katoa, a 16-station satellite dialysis unit located in the Hutt Valley Health Hub next to Hutt Hospital is operational 7 days a week. The successful applicant will need to be able to work across the 3 dialysis units on a day-to-day basis. This position will be a new challenge in your nursing career with the opportunity to develop clinical skills in a specialty area.

About the Team/Service/Location

The dialysis nursing team are dynamic, diverse, hard-working and committed to the delivery of a high standard of patient care. Team members facilitate a friendly and supportive environment, where all team members are valued and appreciated for what they bring to the team. All our registered nurses work across our three dialysis units, which provides the opportunity and experience of working in different settings, where clinical practice and oversight is the same in each unit. Team members are well supported by senior nurses within the renal service.

About you

You will be someone who enjoys working in a team committed to providing safe, holistic patient care, and someone who wants to make a difference. You will have current NZ nursing registration and eligibility to work in NZ. Previous haemodialysis nursing experience beneficial. You will have good patient assessment skills and be able to use clinical judgement to plan and deliver patient treatment. You will have an interest in patient education and being able to support patients to maintain health and wellness.
