Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with Nursing Council of New Zealand and current APC.
  • Experience in peri-operative or surgical care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

About the Service

Ward A5 is a busy general surgical unit with afocus on elective surgery including colorectal, hepatobiliary and bariatricsurgery. No two days are the same in this fast-paced team that focuses onperi-operative care and recovery. Ward A5 is also a Dedicated Education Unitwhere you'll enjoy being involved in the development of student nurses.

About the Role

We're looking for a Registered Nurse to join us whois passionate about surgery and keen to move their career forward. Working inour large multidisciplinary team you can expect to work closely with and learnfrom our Surgeons, Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist, who arefocused on advances in surgical care that improve clinical outcomes. In turnyou will bring your exceptional interpersonal skills and organizational skillsand will be a real team player.

The service is rostered on a rotating roster Mondayto Sunday across Morning, Afternoons and Nights. It is a 0.8FTE (32 hours perweek) fixed-term position covering parental leave from 19/10/2026 until05/09/2027.

About You

You will have effective problem solving anddecision-making skills and a commitment to providing and maintaining highstandards of nursing practice within our service.

  • Acute and elective surgicalexperience
  • Must be able to work allshifts - Morning, Afternoon and Nights across Monday to Sunday
  • Excellent Communication andInterpersonal skills
  • Motivated, with a matureattitude and organised approach, you will be flexible and adaptable inthis ever changing, fast paced environment
  • The ability to workautonomously and effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team
  • Registered with the NursingCouncil of New Zealand with a current APC is required
