Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking Registered Nurses for District Nursing across the MidCentral region, with positions in Palmerston North and Horowhenua. The team delivers specialised community nursing care from seven sites, operating across long daytime hours to support patients in Levin, Foxton, Ōtaki and surrounding areas.

We value experienced nurses with strong interpersonal skills, committed to equity and high-quality community care.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date knowledge in at least one key area (Wound Care, Palliative Care, IV Therapy, Continence Management or Community Care).
• PDRP Level 3 or commitment to working towards it.
• A current practising certificate is required in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Provide district nursing care across the MidCentral region from multiple sites.
• Deliver high-quality community-based nursing services seven days a week.
• Contribute to service improvement, teamwork and patient-centred care.

About the Role We have opportunities available for Registered Nurses within the District Nursing Service across the MidCentral region, particularly Palmerston North and Horowhenua. The Horowhenua position is primarily based in Levin or Foxton and covers the Horowhenua region of MidCentral, including Ōtaki, Levin and Foxton. Our team delivers a broad range of specialised nursing care across the MidCentral region, operating from seven sites between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, seven days a week. We're a dynamic, supportive team committed to delivering high-quality care in a community setting, and we take pride in our well-established focus on continuous service improvement and innovation. We're seeking team players who bring not only advanced clinical expertise, but also outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. About you

To thrive in this role, you'll need up-to-date knowledge and strong skills in at least one of the following key areas:
