Job summary

Summerset Prebbleton is opening a brand-new care centre and seeks a Registered Nurse to join the village team. You will deliver compassionate, resident-directed care in a premium, state-of-the-art environment, with a focus on quality of life for residents.

Typical duties include managing residents' daily needs from clinical to end-of-life care, creating care plans, leading shifts, and guiding caregivers. Training occurs Jan 18–Feb 5, 2027, with a 2-on/4-off rotating schedule and afternoon or

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurse with Practising Certificate and a genuine interest in working with older people.
• Ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Strong communication skills and rapport-building with residents, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage residents' daily needs from clinical to end-of-life care.
• Create and follow long-term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre on shifts and make clinical decisions.
• Deliver planned nursing care and evaluate progress with the resident and family.
• Provide guidance and direction to caregivers on shift.
• Build trusted relationships with residents and their families.
