Bring your nursing experience to Tauranga Hospital's Maternity Unit, supporting wāhine, pēpi and whānau across antenatal, birthing and postnatal care. Working within a midwife-led service, you will contribute your nursing expertise while collaborating closely with Midwives, Lead Maternity Carers, Obstetricians and Lactation Consultants. This fixed-term opportunity offers varied clinical experience within a busy maternity environment where teamwork, responsive care and strong relationships are part of everyday practice.
The Maternity Unit at Tauranga Hospital provides care around the clock, bringing together Midwives, Nurses and specialist maternity professionals to support women and whānau throughout their maternity journey. It is a collaborative environment where different areas of expertise come together naturally, with a shared focus on safe, culturally responsive and whānau-centred care.

You are a Registered Nurse who is comfortable working in a busy clinical environment and genuinely enjoys being part of a close, multidisciplinary team. Calm and adaptable, you communicate well with wāhine and whānau and can respond confidently when care needs change. Experience in acute or maternity-related nursing will help you settle quickly into the role.
