Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages is seeking a Registered Nurse for Avonhead village to provide high‑quality aged care and support residents in a resident‑directed care model. You will join a team focused on quality of life, clinical excellence and family partnership in daily care.

The role involves leading shifts, developing care plans, and delivering nursing care across clinical and end‑of‑life needs, with a 4 days on, 2 days off PM roster.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and current Practicing Certificate required.
• Interest in working with older people; understanding of clinical services in a retirement village.
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, stay calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at our Avonhead village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical Duties Include

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

The full-time roster is 4 days on, 2 days off PM shifts.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.
