Waikato Hospital’s Registered Midwife New Graduate Programme offers 0.8 FTE permanent positions for new graduates. The NZ Health NZ team supports learning, growth and confident practice across maternity services and rural networks.

Graduates complete Bachelor or Master in midwifery, register with the Midwifery Council of NZ, and access comprehensive orientation, preceptorship, and ongoing professional development within one of New Zealand's largest maternity services.

About the Programme

The Waikato Midwifery Graduate Programme has been thoughtfully designed to support your transition from student to registered midwife. Working 0.8 FTE, you'll have dedicated time to participate in the Midwifery First Year of Practice (MFYP) programme while gaining valuable clinical experience within our maternity service. From your very first shift, you'll be supported by experienced preceptors, clinical coaches and midwifery educators who are passionate about helping new graduates succeed. Our programme provides a safe and supportive environment where asking questions, developing confidence and growing your clinical skills are encouraged every day. About You

We're looking for graduates who are excited to begin their midwifery career and who:

• Are completing, or have recently completed, a Bachelor of Midwifery or Master of Clinical Practice (Midwifery) programme
• Are eligible for registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand
• Hold, or are eligible to hold, an Annual Practising Certificate
• Are committed to providing safe, evidence-based and culturally responsive care

Salary and Benefits

• A starting salary from $85,559 per annum (pro rata) plus applicable penal rates and allowances
• Four weeks annual leave, increasing to five weeks after five years of recognised continuous service
