Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato invites graduates to join the Waikato Midwifery Graduate Programme. Working 0.8 FTE, you’ll participate in the Midwifery First Year of Practice while gaining clinical experience in our maternity service.

From your first shift, you’ll be supported by experienced preceptors, clinical coaches and educators who help you develop confidence and skills, with a goal to secure permanent membership in the midwifery team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Midwifery or Master of Clinical Practice (Midwifery) completed or eligible for registration.
• Eligible for registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand.
• Annual Practising Certificate held or eligible.
• Commitment to safe, evidence-based and culturally responsive care.
• Teamwork, kindness and respectful relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support transition from student to registered midwife through MFYP.
• Provide care to women, pēpi and whānau across a range of clinical situations.
• Learn from preceptors, coaches and educators to build confidence and skills.
• Contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment for graduates.
