Job summary

Evolution Healthcare Birthcare in Auckland is seeking a Registered Midwife to deliver antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, upholding Birthcare’s Vision and Values in a warm, supportive setting.

You will collaborate with women and Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs), maintain high clinical standards, manage risks, and support lactation and parenting education while pursuing ongoing professional development within a values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand.
• Bachelor’s degree or hospital-based training in midwifery.
• Current annual practising certificate.

Responsibilities

• As a Registered Midwife at Birthcare, you will provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
• Collaborate with women and Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs).
• Ensure continuity of care in line with Birthcare’s Vision and Values.
• Maintain high standards of patient care in compliance with legislation and professional requirements.

About the roleAs a Registered Midwife at Birthcare, you will:

• Play a vital role in providing antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
• Workcollaboratively with women and their Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs)
• Ensure continuity of care that aligns with Birthcare’s Vision and Values
• Maintain a high standard of patient care in line with legislative and professional requirements
• Continuously develop professionally
• Collaborate with LMCs and staff midwives on quality initiatives
• Act as a resource person when specialised knowledge or skills
• Ensure patient safety and integrity by managing risks and potential complications
• Inform mothers and families about their care and maximise health potential

About you:To join our team, you will need:

• Registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand
• Relevant bachelor’s degree or hospital-based training
• Current annual practice certificate
• Previous experience in midwifery or as an LMC
• You should be able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of service
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate professionalism and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work rostered and rotating shifts
