Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Asphalt Delivery Manager to lead paving operations across the Lower South region from Dunedin. You will drive operational excellence, ensure profitable project delivery, and grow our paving and asphalt capabilities while leading regional teams and coordinating with stakeholders.

You will manage staff rosters, safety, and quality, mentor foremen, and lead continuous improvement in methods and outcomes. A proactive safety and commercial mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience within civil construction, paving, or infrastructure operations.
• Strong project delivery and contract management experience.
• Financial and commercial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of paving and asphalt delivery across the Lower South region.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of asphalt paving works from planning through completion.
• Coordinate plant supply, logistics, crews, and traffic management to maximise daily production.
• Manage multiple paving sites, adjusting resources to meet site conditions.
• Provide on-site leadership to paving, rolling, and ancillary crews.
