Based in Invercargill, this Asphalt Paving Supervisor role is all about leading paving crews and getting quality work delivered safely and on time across the South region.
You’ll be hands on, running day to day paving operations, planning work, organising crews and plant, working with subcontractors, and keeping jobs moving. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager and wider team to hit productivity, quality and safety targets, while building a strong team culture on site.

Key Responsibilities:
Help put together project plans, budgets and schedules.
Support estimating and contract variations where needed.
Supervise paving crews and subcontractors on site, making sure work meets time, quality and safety expectations.
Plan daily work, allocate crews, plant and materials, and keep projects on track.
Make sure site paperwork and daily records are completed correctly and on time.
Assist with monthly claims.
Build good working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams.
Drive a strong Zero Harm mindset by leading from the front
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong mix of hands on paving experience, practical leadership skills, and a genuine commitment to safety and quality on site.
Solid experience supervising asphalt / paving crews
Good working knowledge of asphalt laying, compaction, mix designs and paving plant
Able to measure jobs accurately and order materials with minimal wastage
A practical leader who can motivate crews and hold people accountable
Strong commitment to safety, quality and doing things the right way
Comfortable making decisions and solving problems on the fly
