Join New Zealand Red Cross as a refugee support volunteer to assist families adjusting to a new life in Blenheim. This rewarding role involves helping families set up their homes, connect with local resources, and navigate their new surroundings. Gain valuable skills through comprehensive training while making a positive impact in the community.
You’ll be helping people navigate life in a new country, which might include:
You’ll receive comprehensive training in how to give practical and social support, as well as intercultural practice. The training takes approximately 8 hours and is delivered over several evenings and/or weekends. Sometimes training courses are offered during the day.
Refugee support volunteers work in teams and are supported by New Zealand Red Cross staff and other volunteers.
