With over 9,000 staff and 46,000 students, we are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service to our communities. As an inclusive and innovative institution, we strive to attract and retain talented professionals who reflect our values and support our strategic goals.

Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are seeking a confident and capable Recruitment Consultant to join our Recruitment team, part of the wider Talent and Recruitment function.

In this role, you will partner with hiring managers and senior leaders across the University to deliver a professional, inclusive, and efficient recruitment service for a wide variety of academic and professional roles. From Laboratory Technicians to Lecturers, and Business Analysts to Librarians, you will enjoy the diversity that a university portfolio offers.

You will provide expert guidance and manage the end-to-end recruitment process for selected vacancies—advising on advertising strategy, sourcing, screening, assessments, selection, and offer negotiation. You’ll also support hiring managers to develop short- and long-term recruitment strategies, promote equitable hiring practices, and champion an outstanding candidate experience.

This role also includes a strong administrative component—attention to detail, organisation, and the ability to prioritise across a high-volume portfolio (typically 30+ live roles a mix of end to end and Hiring Manager lead) are essential. You will work closely with other teams across Human Resources, to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with our employer brand.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity (37.5 hours per week), with a salary range of $80,000–$93,000, depending on experience. Position Description
