Health New Zealand is transforming its recruitment space and seeking a Recruitment Advisor to provide operational guidance and end-to-end recruitment from sourcing to onboarding. Based at Whanganui Hospital within the MidCentral/Whanganui team, you'll partner with service managers, clinicians, and hiring managers to fill vacancies, drive candidate attraction, and support a seamless candidate experience.

  • Experience in coordination or advisory capacity in recruitment or HR.
  • Knowledge of NZ legislation as applied in large organisations.
  • Experience in public health recruitment is preferred.
  • Strong relationship management with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for all roles from sourcing to onboarding, including offers and administration.
  • Collaborate with service managers, hiring managers and clinicians to understand vacancies.
  • Deliver recruitment services aligned with workforce strategies.
  • Provide guidance on sourcing and candidate attraction.
  • Coach hiring managers on best practices in recruitment and assessment methods.
  • Ensure timely communication and support for candidates throughout the process.
  • Participate in health sector employment initiatives and recruitment events.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities within the local/regional team.

As a Recruitment Advisor, you will provide operational recruitment guidance, advice, and support to people leaders. You will be responsible for delivering candidate-centric recruitment services, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the end-to-end recruitment process of all roles from sourcing to onboarding - including offer writing and recruitment administration.
  • To work closely with service managers, hiring managers and clinicians to understand the vacancies you are recruiting to.
  • Deliver recruitment services that align with workforce strategies.
  • Provide advice on sourcing and candidate attraction.

About the Team/Service/Location

Health New Zealand is transforming. In the recruitment space we are focusing on national and local strategies that will change our game in candidate attraction, branding and process improvement and we need innovative recruiters to help deliver that promise! This is a permanent role, ideally based at Whanganui Hospital within the MidCentral/Whanganui recruitment team.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant experience in a coordination or advisory capacity in recruitment or human resources if preferred.
  • Knowledge of NZ legislation and its application in a large, complex organisation.
  • Experience working in the public health sector is preferred.
  • Strong relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Proven ability to engage effectively in face-to-face communication across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience using social media platforms as a strategic tool for recruitment and employer branding.
