Overview

We are looking for a warm, motivated and organised receptionist to join our team at our Optometry practice. We are a locally owned practice recognised for providing exceptional customer service and clinical care. We have developed great relationships with our long-term clients and are looking for someone who is committed to providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for our clients. We are a small team which offers an inclusive, supportive environment.

This is a permanent part-time role for an Receptionist/Optical assistant to work alongside our experienced receptionist and optometrists at our Porirua branch. This is a dynamic and varied role that offers the chance to help others and to gain insight into the optical industry.

The role is for 4 days (30 hours per week) 9:00-5:00pm with no weekends, with flexibility to cover occasional sick or annual leave when needed. Required for start date of 27th October or earlier.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and manage front-desk reception duties
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring accurate data entry
  • Handle patient enquiries via phone, email and in-person with professionalism
  • Process payments and co-ordinate stock and deliveries
  • Support optometrists and clients with dispensing tasks, including frame selections and fittings
Skills & Experience
  • We are looking for a positive individual with great communication skills, excellent personal presentation and professional manner, with the ability to multitask and show initiative.
  • Strong computer literacy and an eye for details is essential.
  • Previous optical or medical reception experience is an advantage but training is provided so applications with a strong background in customer service and administration are encouraged.
  • Dispensing opticians are welcome to apply.
  • Remuneration may be negotiated based on experience and skills.
