Job summary

Oranga Tamariki is seeking a dedicated team member at the Ōtara Youth Justice Site to support rangatahi and their whānau. You will contribute to positive outcomes by building relationships, coordinating care, and assisting with appointments and programmes.

Join a multidisciplinary team focused on wellbeing, tikanga Māori, and flexible shifts, with opportunities for training and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with tamariki and rangatahi is required.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills are essential.
• Good judgement and confidence in managing risk and making decisions are needed.

Responsibilities

• Support rangatahi to develop practical life skills and independence.
• Build positive relationships with young people and whānau.
• Assist rangatahi to attend appointments and programmes.
• Work with Social Workers to deliver care plans and better outcomes.
• Support participation in recreational, cultural, and activity-based programmes.
• Coordinate appointments and provide administrative support.
