Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a prominent engineering consultancy, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer for infrastructure projects in Queenstown. You will design power distribution, lighting, and substations, and produce detailed drawings and specs using CAD tools while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least four years’ experience in infrastructure or consulting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum 4 years of electrical design experience.
Experience with infrastructure or consulting projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for infrastructure projects including power distribution and substations.
Create detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
Perform load calculations, power studies, and fault current analysis.
Ensure compliance with national electrical codes and standards.
Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams.
Prepare BOQs and assist procurement.
Conduct site inspections and verify design during construction.
Provide technical support during construction and respond to RFIs.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies.
