BGIS is a global leader in integrated facilities management, working with major clients to deliver critical maintenance services across essential housing infrastructure. We are currently seeking a Quality Specialist to join our team in an onsite, field-based role that drives quality outcomes, project oversight, and customer satisfaction.

Based in Invercargill, this role covers from Southland through to Central Otago and up to Gore. While primarily local, it includes some out-of-town travel and occasional overnight stays—not on a regular basis. Travel is also required for training purposes.

This is not your typical desk job — you'll spend 80% of your time out in the field, scoping works, checking quality standards, and engaging directly with tradespeople to ensure jobs are done right the first time.

About the Role
  • As a Quality Specialist, you’ll play a key role in:
  • Scoping, inspecting, and verifying repair and maintenance works
  • Performing quality assurance and work-in-progress checks
  • Ensuring safety, compliance, and adherence to specifications, building codes, and BGIS standards
  • Supporting trade teams onsite through education and guidance
  • Identifying trends or repeated issues to support improvement strategies
  • Delivering a world-class customer experience with every interaction What You'll Need to Succeed

Preferred Background:

  • Construction or trades background (e.g. building, painting, carpentry, plumbing)
  • Experience in project supervision, quality control, or onsite maintenance
  • Proven ability to assess work quality, scopes, and compliance

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Comfortable with onsite communication and contractor engagement
  • Ability to conduct and document inspections and compliance checks
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, iPads, and online reporting tools
  • A strong safety mindset and attention to detail
  • Genuine desire to deliver exceptional service to clients and communities
