Contact Energy in Wellington is seeking a quality engineering leader to guide and embed quality across multiple squads. You will shape automation strategies, promote reliable testing practices, and collaborate with software and data engineers to deliver high-quality technology outcomes.

You’ll balance technical depth with broader influence, coaching teams and ensuring quality is built into delivery. Flexible working is supported across NZ hubs.

Qualifications

Strong quality engineering experience in modern tech environments.
Understanding of Agile delivery, DevOps, and modern software engineering principles.
Ability to influence and coach teams toward better quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

Provide practical quality engineering guidance to several squads.
Promote test-driven and automation-first practices.
Shape test strategies, standards, and quality metrics.
Improve automation reliability and CI/CD integration.
Adapt quality approaches to different technologies.
