Job summary

Contact Energy (Te Mata Hiko) is seeking a Chapter Lead for Quality Engineering & Automation to shape standards and practices across technology teams. You will lead a talented group, uplift capability, and drive a proactive, quality-first delivery culture.

You’ll balance people leadership with technical guidance, coaching engineers, and partnering with Domain Leads, Delivery Leads, Software and Data Engineers to improve outcomes and adoption of AI-driven opportunities where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of quality engineering and automation practices.
• Experience leading technical teams and coaching engineers.
• Ability to influence across engineering and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Developing and guiding the quality engineering and automation capability roadmap.
• Lead and grow a high-performing chapter through coaching and career development.
• Establish pragmatic quality standards, frameworks and practices.
• Coach teams on modern automation, testing and quality engineering approaches.
