Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Quality Coordinator to provide internal and independent quality assurance for Radiology at Hutt Hospital. The role supports IANZ and QA programmes, ensuring high standards and patient safety.

Working with Radiology staff, you will drive continuous improvement, coordinate audits, and assist in risk management and complaint resolution. A clinical component may be involved.

Qualifications

  • Requires a tertiary qualification and/or significant clerical and audit work experience in a related field.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Experience supporting Radiology staff or similar clinical services is advantageous.

  • Support Radiology staff to enable high quality service delivery across the hospital.

Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.4 FTE

About the Role

We are seeking candidates looking for a Quality Coordinator role to provide an internal and independent quality assurance function that ensures IANZ and other internal and external QA programme requirements are met.

  • Provides support for all Radiology staff to enable high quality service delivery across the hospital.
  • Supports the establishment of a culture of continuous improvement that links Hutt Hospital Radiology service activities to overall hospital operational strategies.
  • Fosters excellence in operational standards and professional conduct for the Service.
  • Supports new and innovative ideas which improve patient experience and outcomes.
  • Identifies emerging issues, risks, threats and opportunities early and mitigates these.
  • Coordinates audit and accreditation processes across the Radiology Department.
  • The role will also assist the Radiology Manager in delivering an effective quality and risk programme, participation in internal and external audit activities, complaints resolution, and development and facilitation of quality improvement activities.
  • The role may also have a clinical Medical Imaging Technology component; although not essential.
About the Team/Service Location

The Hutt Radiology service is multi-disciplinary, employing Radiologists, Medical Imaging Technologists (MITs), MRI Technologists, Sonographers, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, RIS/PACS, Quality and Administration staff. It is also a training institution for MITs, MRI Technologists and Sonographers. The services support Radiology imaging for the lower North Island and upper south island capturing a population of over one million people.

The Radiology Department also hold International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) accreditation.

About you

Candidates should have a tertiary qualification and/or significant clerical and audit work experience in a related field; and have excellent customer service skills.
