Job summary

Douglas Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is seeking a Quality Control Analyst to ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory guidelines, supporting the team to prevent defective products reaching the market.

You will perform sampling and analytical testing, document results, and uphold data integrity while working within a collaborative, quality-focused laboratory. This role includes a mix of independent and team-based responsibilities and offers opportunities for growth and advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Strong numeracy and written communication skills.
• 1-3 years' experience in an analytical or pharmaceutical laboratory.
• Hands-on experience with at least two analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, dissolution testing, or wet chemistry).
• Working knowledge of cGMP and/or GLP in a regulated environment.
• Experience contributing to team-based laboratory operations and also working independently.
• Familiarity with 6S / Lean laboratory practices is an advantage.
• Strong documentation skills with GMP laboratory records.
• Solid computer literacy and experience using laboratory systems.
• Excellent planning and organisational ability to manage testing schedules.
• Proactive problem-solver with initiative and results focus.
• Commitment to continuous learning and growth.
• Ability to safely lift and handle materials up to 25 kg.
• Comfort with PPE and containment systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling and analytical testing of materials, packaging, bulk, and finished products per DML specs and SOPs.
• Conduct chromatography, dissolution, wet chemistry, and physical testing.
• Ensure sampling/testing timelines with qualified equipment and reagents.
• Identify and escalate issues affecting data accuracy or test validity.
• Accurately document and report results in lab systems; ensure data meets specs and system suitability.

Job description

As a Quality Control Analyst, you will a play crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the required quality standards and regulatory guidelines. You will be at the heart of the team essential for preventing defective products from reaching the market, protecting consumers, and ensuring the company maintains regulatory compliance.

What you'll do

Sampling and Testing

• Perform sampling and analytical testing of incoming materials, packaging, bulk, and finished products in accordance with DML specifications, test methods, while complying to cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) / cGLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and SOPs.
• Conduct laboratory analyses including chromatography, dissolution, wet chemistry, and physical testing.
• Safely sample materials using containment systems, PAPR technology, and full air-supplied suits when required.
• Ensure sampling and testing activities are performed within expected timelines using qualified equipment and approved reagents.
• Identify and elevate potential issues that could impact data accuracy or test validity.

Data Integrity and Reporting

• Accurately document and report test results in designated laboratory systems in line with Quality Control procedures.
• Verify system suitability and ensure data meets specification requirements before reporting results.
• Review data for compliance and trends before discarding preparations or samples.
• Promptly communicate test deficiencies, Laboratory Investigation Reports (LIRs), or Out of Specification (OOS) results through appropriate channels.
• Uphold data integrity principles (ALCOA+).
